Description	:	The following information is provided by contributor JanTenny: Laura Belle Robinson was born at Plattsville, Shelby County, Ohio, May 28, 1857. Joined the M.E. church when a mere child and was a devoted Christian from early youth. Was married to E.C. Dorsey Nov. 18, 1875, and came with her husband to Miami County, Kansas, in September 1884. During the year 1886, when the New Hope Baptist church was struggling for existence she and her husband united their destinies with it and have since lived consistent Christians. Read More	The following information is provided by contributor JanTenny: Laura Belle Robinson was born at Plattsville, Shelby County, Ohio, May 28, 1857. Joined the M.E. church when a mere child and was a devoted Christian from early youth. Was married to E.C. Dorsey Nov. 18, 1875, and came with her husband to Miami County, Kansas, in September 1884. During the year 1886, when the New Hope Baptist church was struggling for existence she and her husband united their destinies with it and have since lived consistent Christians. For about three years past, the family have resided some three miles south of Wellsville and for the most part of the time Mrs. Dorsey has been a constant but very patient sufferer from that dread disease peritonitis. For several weeks past she had been able to go about the house and yard. Suddenly at sunset Friday, April 30, she became much worse and died at 9 o'clock with only the words, "I am sleepy." She was in all respects a model woman, an affectionate mother, a devoted wife and an exemplary Christian. She leaves a husband and six daughters in ages from 8 to 16 to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. The funeral was held from the house at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 2, 1897, and the sermon preached by Rev. J.W. Fulkrod, from the text, "I have finished my course." A large concourse of relatives, friends and neighbors were present and followed the remains to its last resting place in the Hostetter cemetery.
