IIRON FLANAGIN Laura Bertha Mary Siske was born April 3, 1903, on a farm five miles southwest of Steinauer, and departed this life May 6, 1928, aged 25 years, 1 month and 3 days. She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Siske, Sr. While yet in her infant days her parents recognized their sacred duty to the child and brought her into the church of Christ through the rites of Holy Baptism, conducted by Rev. H. Krueger of the Evangelical church at Steinauer. Her education was received at the Golden Valley school, near her home. Until her thirteenth year she lived here with her parents, and in the spring of 1916 she left the place of her birth and moved with her parents to Linn, Kas., where the family resided for two years. There, on April 7, 1917, she was taken up as a confirmed member of the church by Rev. P. O. Spehr. In the spring of 1919 the family left their Kansas home and moved to the present home four and one-half miles south of Pawnee City, Nebr. On October 13, 1924, she was united in marriage to Iiron Flanagin at Seneca, Kas. To this union a son, Calvin LeRoy, now three years old, was born, also a daughter, Alberta Rose, aged 13 months. Besides the loved ones of her family there remain to mourn her premature departure her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Siske, Sr., three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. George Smith of Seneca, Kas., Mildred and Myrtle at home, Rudolph Siske of Pawnee City, Erwin and Wilmoth, at home; also a host of other relatives and friends. The departed was a kind and affectionate mother, an industrious helpmate to her husband, a dutiful daughter to her parents, a loving sister and faithful friend. In June of last year she went to Denver, Colo., for her health, where she stayed two months, returning in September. This spring, about a week before her death, she went to the home of her parents when her health continued to fail. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her parents Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. O. J. Krueger, and interment was in the (sic) Evangelical cemetery south of DuBois.
