Mrs. Melchior had worked in the cafeteria at Hayden High School and in the housekeeping department for St. Francis Hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1911, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Domme Weigel. Mrs. Melchior was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church. Weigel, Topeka; four sisters, Brigida Beier, Catherine Renyer and Genevieve Hendrix, all of Topeka, and Barbara Iberg, Hastings, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great- grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Melchior will lie in state after 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church where a parish prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Midland Hospice Care Inc., 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606; or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 N.E. Freeman, Topeka, 66616. Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
