Laura E., daughter of David and Nancy Bonecutter, was born in Pleasantville, Iowa, Oct. 7,1873; died at the home of her parents In Lebanon, Kansas, Nov. 8, at 5:20 o’clock p. m., aged 21 years, 1 month and 1 day. Laura E., daughter of David and Nancy Bonecutter, was born in Pleasantville, Iowa, Oct. 7,1873; died at the home of her parents In Lebanon, Kansas, Nov. 8, at 5:20 o’clock p. m., aged 21 years, 1 month and 1 day. Deceased came with her parents to this county in 1879. When the town of Lebanon was located David Bonecutter and family established the first residence on the townsite and have resided here continually ever since. Laura was regarded as one of the brightest and best girls in the community and was for two or three years before her marriage a successful teacher in our public schools. January 14th last she was married to Ernest W. Adams, son of Jams W. Adams and wife, old and highly respected citizens of Lebanon. In July Mr. and Mrs. Adams made a trip to Colorado by wagon in hope of benefiting Mrs. Adams’ health, which was not good. She received little benefit and after their return home failed gradually until the end. Fifteen days before her death she was taken down and her friends were forced to abonden all hope for her recovery. During her last illness, as in all her life before, she displayed a beautiful Christian fortitude and spirit. She was ready to die and expressed the utmost confidence in the promises of God’s holy word. She was a faithful and exemplory member of the Christian church, and the funeral will be held at the new Christian church in this city next Sunday afternyon at 1 o’clock. She leaves a husband, parents and five brothers and three sisters to mourn her loss. One brother lives in the Indian Territory and one sister in Iowa and one in Nebraska, who could not be present, the others were with her at her death. True and faithful and hopeful in this life she has gone to her reward in the “land that is fairer than day.” Her loss is mourned by all, and the sorrowing family has the sympathies of the entire community in their time of bereavement.
