She died February 23, 1978, at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 2 days. Her entire life was spent in this area. Laura was a life time member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Royal Neighbors. Laura was a life time member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Royal Neighbors. Survivors include a son, Ward of Deweese; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Reba) Harrington of Nelson, Mrs. Paul (Beulah) Walthers of Cuba, Kansas, and Mrs. Fred (Fara) Harms and Mrs. Albert (Fern) Ellermeier, both of Glenvil; seven grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 25 at Nelson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clair Kess officiating. Burial was in the Edgar cemetery (sic). Casketbearers were Darrell Harrington, Dean Walthers, David Walthers, Douglas Harms, Galen Stansbury and Marlyn Ellermeier. Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson, was in charge.
