Description	:	Ward Carl Stansbury, the son of Ancel James and Laura Edith Bradley Stansbury, was born Nov. 22, 1917, on a farm southeast of Deweese. He died Feb. 21 in his home in Nelson at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 29 days. He was united in marriage to Rosella Mae Short Oct. 21, 1936, at Belleville. Recently he became a charter member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Fern Ellermeier, and one nephew, Marlyn Ellermeier. He is survived by his wife, Rosella; son, Galen, Juniata; three sisters, Fara Harms of Hastings, Beulah Walthers of Cuba, Kan., and Reba Harrington of Nelson; and many other relatives including two nieces and three nephews. Stansbury had lived his entired life in the Deweese-Nelson area. He was a farmer until he moved into Nelson in 1978. He still continued to help on his farm until a heart attack forced him to quit in September, 1988. The funeral was Friday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m., from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ with the Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Superior Express March 2, 1989.
