Description	:	OBIT: Mrs. Laura Lamphrey, 36, wife of Gerald Lamphrey, died at the Ellensburg General Hospital early yesterday. Death resulted from complications following an operation performed last week. A well-known Ellensburg resident, Mrs. Lamphrey was prominent in Parent-Teacher Association work and in the Eastern Star. She was a past president of the Washington PTA organization in which she had been active for many years. She was a member of Grace Chapter of the Eastern Star and of the Degree of Honor. Death resulted from complications following an operation performed last week. A well-known Ellensburg resident, Mrs. Lamphrey was prominent in Parent-Teacher Association work and in the Eastern Star. She was a past president of the Washington PTA organization in which she had been active for many years. She was a member of Grace Chapter of the Eastern Star and of the Degree of Honor. She was born at Caney, Kansas, November 5, 1904, the daughter of Levi Hughes. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Charlene, and a son, Gail; her father; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Carpenter, Mrs. Otis DesVoigne and Mrs. Clark Wheeler, all of Ellensburg; Mrs. Sam Leathers of Winlock and Mrs. Lulu Taylor of San Diego, and four brothers, Alfred and Frank Hughes of Ellensburg and Will and Paul Hughes of Seattle. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Honerycutt Chapel. The Eastern Star and Rev. Joseph Greene of the Baptist Church will be in charge of the services. Members of the Degree of Honor will meet at the home of Mrs. John Palamerchuk in the Reynolds Apartments at 1 p.m. to attend the services. Ellensburg Daily Record, March 17, 1941
