Laura Mae Reinbach was born February 8, 1903, to Clinton and Georgia (Jessee)Schafer at Hydro, Indian Territory, OK. She lived most of her life in Kansas. After graduating from Vermillion High School in 1921, Laura attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, KS for two years. Laura taught for Rural Marshall County Schools and Hutchinson Schools. Laura Mae Reinbach was born February 8, 1903, to Clinton and Georgia (Jessee)Schafer at Hydro, Indian Territory, OK. She lived most of her life in Kansas. After graduating from Vermillion High School in 1921, Laura attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, KS for two years. Laura taught for Rural Marshall County Schools and Hutchinson Schools. In 1930, Laura married Otto Mendel Reinbach in Vermillion, Kansas. They lived in Hutchinson, Kansas until his death in 1957. At that time she continued her education, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from Sterling College. Laura taught in Wichita, Kansas until she moved to Vermillion, Kansas in 1967, where she taught special education until her retirement. Laura was a member of the Christian Church for most of her life. She taught the pre-schoolers for many years in the Vermillion Christian Church and served willingly whenever she was needed. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Clinton Schafer; two sisters; Mrs. Helen Smith and Mrs. Gertrude Shepherd, all of Vermillion, Kansas. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lois Duffy, Vermillion, Kansas; two brothers; Paul Schafer, Ponte Vedra, Florida and James Schafer, Vermillion, Kansas; nine nieces and four nephews, and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2, 1993 at the Christian Church in Vermillion, Kansas. Rev. Scott Caulley officiated. Casketbearers were Keith Bramhall, Kerry Bramhall, Ron Bramhall, John Harper, Jim Duffy, and Richard Argo. Burial was in Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
