Description	:	Mrs Laura Mankle, 80, of New Market died Thursday following a long illness. She had been at Bethesda Care Center for the past two years. She was born Oct 13, 1898, in Taylor County, the daughter of John and Florence Sparks Allison. On Nov 15, 1925, she was married to Edwin Mankle who preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a son Eldon in 1970. Mrs Mankle was an active member of the New Market community and the Baptist Church. On Nov 15, 1925, she was married to Edwin Mankle who preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a son Eldon in 1970. Mrs Mankle was an active member of the New Market community and the Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister-in-law Mary Allison of New Market and nieces Dorothy Harms of Clarinda and Marjorie Harris of Shambaugh and a nephew Kyle Hughes of Clarinda. Funeral services were held this Monday morning at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with Rev Del Vande Krol officiating. Mary Anderson was organist and Rosevelyn Bashor soloist. Casket bearers were George Slaight, Ivan Sparks, Ed Frodsham, Orville Wood, Thelbert Kendrick and Jim Clark. Burial was in Memory Cemetery at New Market.
