Description	:	Lauretta Henrietta Vance, 93, of Topeka, KS, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at her home. She was born April 3, 1920 in Holton, KS the daughter of Henry John and Laura Susanna (Schirmer) Haag. Lauretta graduated from Holton High School in 1938. She worked for Slimaker Dress Factory as a billing clerk. She moved to Kansas City and worked for Leland Mast as a proofer for telephone books; she retired after 20 years. Read More	Lauretta Henrietta Vance, 93, of Topeka, KS, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at her home. She was born April 3, 1920 in Holton, KS the daughter of Henry John and Laura Susanna (Schirmer) Haag. Lauretta graduated from Holton High School in 1938. She worked for Slimaker Dress Factory as a billing clerk. She moved to Kansas City and worked for Leland Mast as a proofer for telephone books; she retired after 20 years. Lauretta was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and attended First United Methodist Church in Topeka. She was also a member of Epsilon Epsilon Sorority. She married Chester Lee Vance on May 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1978. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Louise Messner and Kathryn Eastham and 3 brothers, Franklin, Milton and Lloyd Haag. Survivors include 2 daughters, Racinda Ross (Steve) of Oklahoma City, OK and Laura Jane Vance-Butler of Topeka, KS; a sister, Laura Corrine Burnett of Prairie Village, KS and 6 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with Rev. Dr. Bruce Emmert officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Evangel United Methodist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O.
