Description	:	LAURETTA L. KEISER Lauretta L. Keiser was born November 1, 1918 to Fred W. Rinne and Regina Bartels Rinne near Violet, Nebraska. She was the third child of seven born to her parents. Lauretta was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical Church northwest of Steinauer, Nebraska. She attended District 11 country school through eighth grade and then attended Pawnee City High School graduating in the spring of 1936. Lauretta began playing trumpet at an early age. Keiser was born November 1, 1918 to Fred W. Rinne and Regina Bartels Rinne near Violet, Nebraska. She was the third child of seven born to her parents. Lauretta was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical Church northwest of Steinauer, Nebraska. She attended District 11 country school through eighth grade and then attended Pawnee City High School graduating in the spring of 1936. Lauretta began playing trumpet at an early age. She was first taught by her sister Elnora and later took lessons from Professor Hagenow. She played trumpet solo, at age nine, with the Pawnee band at the State Fair and was given a silver dollar by the governor because she had played so well. Her music interests coincided with those of Harland Keiser, a neighbor who lived nearby. After graduation from high school, they both played in bands and began dating. In October of 1941 Harland went to California to work at Lockheed Aircraft. He saved money and sent for Lauretta. She arrived in Los Angeles by train on December 19, 1941 and they were married the next day in Las Vegas. She then joined her husband in working at Lockheed Aircraft. Lauretta and Harland returned to Pawnee in December of 1946 to farm. Lauretta helped in raising a big garden. She canned and froze many vegetables from the garden. She raised many flowers, including gladiolas, which multiplied into the hundreds. Lauretta had a green thumb. She not only enjoyed gardening outdoors, but after moving to town began growing African violets and other house plants. Lauretta focused her life on her husband and her daughter. She wanted her daughter to receive the college education that she never had. Lauretta went to work at Edee's Dry Goods store in 1967 after her daughter graduated from high school to help pay for Janet's education. Later Lauretta had the opportunity to work at Colwell Drug Store, and when that was sold to Pete Vonderfecht she worked for him at Pete's Pharmacy. Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elnora, her brothers Dale, Everett, and Ronald, and her husband Harland. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jim Woolsoncroft, her brothers David and Vernon Rinne, and other relatives and friends. Interment was in the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, NE. (Pawnee Republican, Feb. 7, 2013)
