BOEHMER Lavern Otto Boehmer was born to Carl W. and Lizzie Heuppelsheuser Boehmer, Febr. 3, 1920, on a farm near Humboldt, Nebr., where he grew to manhood, and passed away at his home eight miles north of Seneca, Kans., Nov. 26, 1967, being 47 years, 9 months and 23 days of age. He was baptized at Frieden's Church by Rev. Walter Dickmann, April 18, 1920. Lavern received his education at the Athens grade school and the Humboldt High School. Leaving Humboldt, he farmed near DuBois, Nebr., until he moved to the present farm in the year 1950. In Holy Scripture God reminds us that it is not good for man to live alone, Lavern Boehmer and Miss Eileen Stock of Winifred, Kans., were joined in marriage Febr. 11, 1951. They have lived and labored here in this community these years, where they have faithful friends and neighbors and were respected members in the community. In the first years of their married life, the Boehmers attended Frieden's United Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, Eileen Boehmer, Mr. boehmer leaves his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Boehmer of DuBois; a sister, Mrs. Luela Allen of Wendell, Calif.; brothers, Lyle Boehmer of Bern, Kans.; and Carl Boehmer of Pawnee City; five nieces and four nephews; many friends, for he was known as being kind and always ready to help. Lavern was conscientious in his dealings with others. The memorial service was held at Frieden's United Church of Christ Nov. 29, 1967, with Rev. Charles P. Grier and Rev. Arthur F. Werner officiating. David Rinne was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Rex Griffith, organist. Pallbearers were Melvin Bredemeier, Joe Griffith, Rex Griffith, Rex Reist, Amos Ulmer, and Ivan Wissler. Interment was in the church cemetery. PAWNEE REPUBLICAN (Pawnee City, Nebraska)- Thursday, November 30, 1967-Page 1. DEATH- BOEHMER- LaVern O. Boehmer, 47, farmer who lived eight miles north and one and a quarter west of Seneca, was found dead Sunday afternoon, Nov. 26, at the barn at the farm where he had apparently hanged himself with a halter rope. He was known to have worried, especially over failing sight. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 29, from Frieden's United Church of Christ south of DuBois. Burial was in the church cmetery.
