Description	:	Lawrence Dean, 78, of Wilmington died 7:05 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Olive Belle Eaglin Dean, whom he married Feb. 10, 1945. He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Brown County, son of Charles and Gladys Woodruff Dean, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Read More	Lawrence Dean, 78, of Wilmington died 7:05 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 31, 2002) at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Olive Belle Eaglin Dean, whom he married Feb. 10, 1945. He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Brown County, son of Charles and Gladys Woodruff Dean, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He was a board member of the Dairy Farmers of America from 1970-1995. He was well known in the farming community, and had been featured in articles in the Wilmington News Journal and Ohio Holstein Magazine. He was a member of district, state and national holstein associations. Mr. Dean and his wife lived in the community on the same dairy farm for 52 years. He was a dedicated and loving husband and devoted family man who dedicated his life to his family and the dairy farming industry. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Joyce (James) Blust of Versailles, Ky., Judy (Michael) Cowman of Wilmington and Jennifer (Rod) McCord of Wilmington; two sons, Jim Bob (Barb) Dean of Wilmington and Johnny Bill (Roxanne) Dean of Wilmington; a brother, James (Loretta) Dean of Hillsboro; two sisters, Hilda Wilkin of Hillsboro and Frances (Jack) Detmer of Cincinnati; a sister-in-law, Esther Dean of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, James (Elizabeth) Blust of San Diego, Calif., Jeremy (Jessica) Blust of Florence, Ky., Nikki Dean of Wilmington, Jason Dean of Wilmington and Janelle Dean of Wilmington; and two great-grandchildren, Kira Blust of San Diego, Calif. and Jacey Blust of Florence, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant sons; an infant daughter; a brother, Ralph Dean; a sister, Iva Quallen; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Quallen and Darwin Wilkin. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, the Rev. James M. Wedig celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at REYNOLDS SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 327 N. South St., with prayers at 8 p.m.
