Description	:	An obituary was published for Lawrence in the “Ottumwa Courier,” of January 20, 1953. He was killed about 3:55 a.m. in an automobile crash on Highway 69, five miles south of Leon. He was en route to Rolla, Kan, to get his wife, Helen, who had been visiting there.
