Description	:	Obituary Lemuel L. Wood was born on a farm in Harrison County. Ohio, close to New Rumley. June 26, 1846 and died in Sargent, Custer County. Nebraska, Nov. 14, 1916. being at the time of his death at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 18 days. His early years were spent on the farm and attending country school. Ohio, close to New Rumley. June 26, 1846 and died in Sargent, Custer County. Nebraska, Nov. 14, 1916. being at the time of his death at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 18 days. His early years were spent on the farm and attending country school. In 1866 he left his native state and sought a new home locating at Arlington, Iowa, when he took up the carpenter trade. Here he became acquainted with Miss Malissa Thompson, to whom he was married November 4, 1866. To this union there were born two children, Kit Marten and Margaret Ellen, now Mrs. Eugenia Armstrong. Mrs. Malissa Wood passed away leaving her husband and the children surviving her. On April 3, 1875 he was united in marriage to Miss Manerva Thompson. To them was born Amos Latlmer who preceded his father in death after arriving at manhood, William Henry, Zella M. now Mrs. Scott of Waterloo, Iowa, Lemuel Ross, who died in Infancy and Luetta Alona, now Mrs. Herald I. Perrln. All his children except Mrs. Scott are residents of Sargent. Mr. Wood was one of the early settlers of Dry Valley this county where he and his wife and family took up a homestead, improved and proved upon the same. Some years ago our beloved brother moved with his family to the Village of Sargent where he actively took, part in its upbuilding and development. At the time of his death he was one of our most respected citizens. Early in his married life he became a member of the Christian church, to which he was always devotedly attached and died with un abiding faith in its teaching and in its precepts that comes only to one who seeks and follows the lessons of the Lowly Nazarone.
