W. railway conductor, died Jan. 31, 1945. Mr. Burton was born Nov. 19, 1881 in Boone county, son of William and Sadie Burton. He was married to Ada Yencer, Aug. 11, 1910, in Columbus, Ohio. Before coming to Clinton 23 years ago the couple lived in Boone. For the past 40 years Burton was an employee of the C. and N. W. railway. Active in Masonic circles he was a member of Western Star Lodge 100, A. F. & A. M.; DeMolay Consistory, A. A. S. R. Masons; Kasba temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Davenport; Keystone Chapter, 32 R. A. M.; Magi Shrine, 25, White Shrine of Jerusalem; and a past patron of Lyons chapter, 103, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Order of Railroad conductors, the Clinton War Dads and sons of Union Veterans. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Cleo Dodge and three grandchildren, all of Clinton, and four brothers, Eugene F.
