Read More	Stratford Courier Sept. 18, 1924 BOY KILLED SUNDAY WHEN HE FALLS UNDER A PASSING AUTO A sad accident happened here late Sunday afternoon when Leo, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Olof Berglund, received injuries when he was run over by a passing car, which resulted in his death late Monday night. The lad was playing with some other children near the J.F. Anderson home in south Stratford which is but a short distance from his own home. He was standing on the parking near the street crossing and just as the auto driven by Martin Hall, came from the west, started to run to get across the street. Mr. Hall was driving very slowly and succeeded in turning the front wheels so that they did not strike him but he fell in some way and a rear wheel passed over his head causing a fracture of the skull. After a brief examination he was taken to the hospital in Webster City and operated on at once and then it was found that three ribs were also broken. He rallied from the operation and it was thought that he might recover but a relapse came late in the day which caused his death about nine o'clock. There were a number who witnessed the accident and all state that Mr. Hall was driving very slowly and that he was in no way to blame for the accident that he tried in every way to avoid it. OBITUARY Leo Berglund was born on July 5, 1920, in Stratford and was thurs on the day of his death, 4 years, 2 months, 10 days old. He was an exceptionally bright little fellow and a lad who had endeared himself to many people here, so much so that the entire town is saddened over his tragic death. The many friends of the parents extend sincere condolences to them in this their supreme hour of sorrow. Funeral services were held yesterday from the home at 1:30 in the afternoon and from the Baptist Church at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
