Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. Leo Sidney Beam was born September 26, 1928, in Strahan, the son of Sidney and Hazel (Dickerson) Beam. The family later moved to Coburg, where he came under the ministry of the American Sunday School Union. He graduated from Coburg High School in 1946, Omaha Bible Institute in 1950 and the University of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska in 1954. He married Clara Ann Schneider on June 4, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska. He became ordained in the Gospel ministry and served as interim pastor and pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Louisville, Nebraska for three years. He also taught in the public schools at Elkhorn, Nebraska for nine years and Harlan for five years. He moved to Tipton in 1971, where he taught at the Tipton Bible Church School, now Tipton Christian Academy, for 31 years. Clara preceded him in death on March 14, 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Beam and Donna (Dennis) Hansen, both of Tipton; two sons, Scott Beam and Jonathan (Hope) Beam, both of Maquoketa; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one infant son, David Beam, one foster son, Michael West and three sisters, Alice Johnson, Dorothy Beam and Altha Mae Laabs. Fry Funeral Home
