She was born on May 25, 1925 in Chicopee, KS the daughter of John and Della (Callaway) Busse. She lived her early years at Camp 50. She was a 1942 graduate of Arma High School. Leona married Marvin Moyer on May 30, 1942; they moved to Albany, OR and lived in various places due to Marvin's job. Marvin passed away February 24, 1968 in Albany, OR. She married Thomas Crockett on July 16, 1988 in Reno, NV; he passed away on September 23, 1998. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard. She retired as receptionist in April 1988 from the Crawford County Health Department. Leona loved cooking, gardening, camping and traveling with her family. Survivors include three daughters Diana Moyer and Michele Golob of Arma, KS, Carol Pfeiffer of Victoria, KS; a son Marty Moyer of Lyndon, KS; a brother James Busse of Oregon; 2 sisters both of Arma; 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, 4 Step-grandchildren and 4 Step Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Irene Jeler, Mary Brees, Mildred Busse; 2 brothers John and Joe Busse; an infant son Harold Lloyd Moyer and a grandson Alan Polcyn. Private family services and viewing will be at a later date. Burial will also be at a later date in the Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry. Friends may call at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac after 3 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions and donations can be made in care of Michele Golob, donations to be used for the individuals who helped care for her mother Leona. Contributions can be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay/P.O. Box 907 Frontenac, KS 66763.
