JOHN CROWE Funeral services for Mrs. John Crowe, former resident of Villisca and the Nodaway vicinity, were held here Sunday afternoon at the Wolfe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Herbert H. Holland. The singing was by Mrs. Herbert Holland, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Cox, and in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Gertie Kernen and Mrs. Tim Northup. The pall bearers were Alfred Havens, Tim Northup. Dan Pierce, Les Johnson, Frank Butler, and Walter Andrew, and interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Leona Graham was born June 18, 1874 in Ringgold County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Crowe on August 16, 1896, and to this union three children were born, Ernest, Margaret, and Harold. Mrs. Crowe lived in Montgomery County until 1942, when she moved to Rolfe, Iowa to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Roy Brooks. For the past several years she has been in poor health and was bedridden for the last six months. She died in her daughter's home, August 9, 1950, at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Crowe was preceded in death by her husband, February 20, 1936. Her son, Harold died in infancy. She is survived by one son, Ernest of Clarinda, a daughter, Mrs. Roy Brooks of Rolfe, a sister, Mrs. Oscar Munson of York, Nebraska, a brother, Noah Graham of Sturmburg, Nebraska; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Crowe was a member of the Christian Church in Martinsdale, Iowa. Services were conducted at Rolfe, August 11, by the Rev. Fred Jacobsen, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
