Description	:	Mrs. Viola Young was found dead in her bed Monday morning at the home of Elder and mrs. R. A. Bixler of Douglas Township, having gone there to spend the night. Mrs. Young had been making her home with her brother, Charlie Graham, but had decided to leave there, packing her suitcase and going to the home of a neighbor, who drove to the Bixler home with the lady, arriving there about 4:0. Read More	Mrs. Viola Young was found dead in her bed Monday morning at the home of Elder and mrs. R. A. Bixler of Douglas Township, having gone there to spend the night. Mrs. Young had been making her home with her brother, Charlie Graham, but had decided to leave there, packing her suitcase and going to the home of a neighbor, who drove to the Bixler home with the lady, arriving there about 4:0. The family with their guest had supper rater late on account of the storm which delayed the chores and at 9 o'clock Mrs. Young retired, the last she was seen alive. About 7 o'clock Monday morning, Mrs. Bixler called her but receiving no response she approached the bed and touched her arm, only to find her cold in death. She ran downstairs and called Mr. Bixler, who immediately notified Sheriff Hull and Coroner Roland, who went to the Bixler residence and impanelled a jury: F. P. Day, L. C. Williams, and Henry Donnelly. After hearing the evidence the following verdict was returned. "We, the jury, find that Mrs. John, who lies dead here, came to her death by valvular heart trouble between the houses of 9 o'clock p.m. on May 7th and 7 o'clock a.m. May 8, 1916 at the R. A. Bixler home in Douglas Township, Adams County, Iowa." Dr. W. H. Worley testified that the deceased had to his knowledge had a severe case of heart trouble for or five years and his examination showed that she died of heart trouble about 3 o'clock that night. Mrs. R. A. Bixler testified as follows: Mrs. John Young came to her home about 4:30 Sunday, May 7th, ate heartily at about 8 o'clock and went to bed at about 9. Called her about 7 this morning; she looked rather queer and so went back down and told Mr. Bixler I believed she was dead. She had taken a heart tablet just before going to bed. R. A. Bixler's testimony, "When wife went to cal Mrs. Young for breakfast, she came running back down stairs and said she believed she was dead up there, and so I went up and found that she was cold. Called sheriff and coroner. Mrs. Young came to me about being Mr. Young and trying to settle the case they had in court before it came to trial. She ate a real hearty supper for feeling the way I new she had been. Suppose she died of heart trouble." Mrs. Young was formerly Viola Iowa Graham, and was born near Mt. Ayr, November 27, 1880, and was aged thirty-five years, five months, and eight days. She was married to John A. Young in 1889. She was the mother of four children, three having been put in the Home and little Mary, five years old, residing at the home of C. L. Graham in Montgomery County, Iowa. She leaves three brothers, and one sister, and are Ed Graham, residing in Idaho, Charles Graham of Stromburg, Montana, C. L. Graham of Montgomery County, and Jennie Graham of Valley Junction.
