In 1857 he moved to Iowa City, Iowa, and in 1858 removed to Belleview, Iowa. His father was a veteran of the Civil War and died on Island No. 10 in the Mississippi expedition. Read More	The Orchard News Vol. XXII Friday, March 30 1923 Leonard Abraham Risinger was born February 3, 1845 in Ripley County, Indiana and passed away at his home in Orchard, Nebraska, Thursday, March 22, 1923 age 78 years, 1 month and 19 days, after an illness of fourteen weeks. In 1857 he moved to Iowa City, Iowa, and in 1858 removed to Belleview, Iowa. His father was a veteran of the Civil War and died on Island No. 10 in the Mississippi expedition. This leaving him without his father at the age of about 17 years. He being the oldest of four children he helped his mother to support the family through the years of war and volunteered to train for minute men service. December 30 1875 he was united in marriage to Jane Beggs and to this union eight children were born of which the two oldest a daughter and a son died in infancy. The two youngest, Martha Olive died October 31, 1901 and Florence Edith died September 7, 1911. In 1882 moved to Shelby, Iowa and in 1887 moved to Dawes County, Nebraska where he resided for fourteen years. While at Chadron he united with the Methodist Episcopal church, of Chadron Creek Congregation. He has also held his children and family to the very highest ideals. He leave to mourn his departure three daughters and one son. Mr(s). James Boham and Reed Risinger, of Venus, Nebraska, Mrs. Ela Allan, of Blaine, Washington, and Miss Alice Risinger, of Orchard, Nebraska. One brother, A. P. Risinger, of Spragueville, Iowa. Three nephews, Edwin, James and Ernest Risinger of Spragueville. Two nieces, Mrs. Hattie Dunn, of Delta, Iowa, Mrs. Alice Gibson, of New Jersey. Also fifteen grand children. Services were held at the home in the east part of town, Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. H. Spracklen, after which the body was taken to Clearwater and from there sent to Chadron to be placed beside his wife who departed this life a little more than a year ago. At Chadron services were conducted by Rev. Baker, pastor of the Methodist Church. Mr. Risinger was received into the Methodist church while Rev. Baker was pastor at Chadron several years ago. The remains were accompanied to Chadron by Reed and Alice Risinger, Jas. Boham, wife and one son. ------------------ Leonard & Emmira lost their youngest daughter Martha, in 1901. Ten years later their second youngest daughter, Florence died. It was ten years later when Emmira joined her two daughters. Leonard A. died about three years later. Do to the hard times no grave markers were ever ordered. In 2015 family members were able to buy markers for the graves. Those were placed by Allen Monument Company of Ainsworth on, Sept. 3, 2015. -Listed in cemetery records as L. A. Risinger-
