Description	:	L. Cangas Dies at 77 Leonard Cangas, 77, 1423 Thirty-fifth street, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday in Sacred Heart hospital. He had been failing in health for two weeks. Mr. Cangas was born on Nov. 5, 1883, in Mexico. He had lived in Fort Madison for 40 years and was a retired employee of the Santa Fe railroad. On Jan. 1, 1905, in Mexico he married, Emilia Ortiz, who died July 1953. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church. Mr. Cangas was born on Nov. 5, 1883, in Mexico. He had lived in Fort Madison for 40 years and was a retired employee of the Santa Fe railroad. On Jan. 1, 1905, in Mexico he married, Emilia Ortiz, who died July 1953. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church. Surviving are four sons, Phillip, Manuel, Joseph and Frank, all of Fort Madison; and one daughter, Mrs. Julia Puga, also of Fort Madison, Fourteen grandchildren also survive. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one son. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart church. The Rev. John Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery. The body is at Nieters Chapel where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. CANGAS SERVICES Funeral services for Leonardo Cangas, 77, 1423 Thirty-fifth street, were at 9 a.m. toady at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. John Martin officiated. Burial was at Sacred Heart cemetery. Pallbearers were Venito Ramirez, Jose Hernandez, Louis Guzman, Larry Bolanos, Henry Puga and Vernarve Garcia. The newspaper obituary contains many typos.
