Description	:	LEORA M. BUETHE Leora Minna Charlotte (Geweke) Buethe, life long resident of Elk Creek, Nebraska died March 10, 2003 at Pawnee Manor, Pawnee City, Nebraska. She was born June 21, 1905 to William J. and Rosa (Peters) Geweke on the family farm southeast of Elk Creek. She was baptized by Rev. H.F. Grupe on July 28, 1905 and was confirmed on May 11, 1919 with her verse being Isaiah 41:10. Leora lived on the family farm until she married Erhardt Buethe also of rural Elk Creek. BUETHE Leora Minna Charlotte (Geweke) Buethe, life long resident of Elk Creek, Nebraska died March 10, 2003 at Pawnee Manor, Pawnee City, Nebraska. She was born June 21, 1905 to William J. and Rosa (Peters) Geweke on the family farm southeast of Elk Creek. She was baptized by Rev. H.F. Grupe on July 28, 1905 and was confirmed on May 11, 1919 with her verse being Isaiah 41:10. Leora lived on the family farm until she married Erhardt Buethe also of rural Elk Creek. They were wed on April 29, 1933 at St. Peter's Church. To this union three sons were born, Ronald Dalen, Willis Lee, and an infant son who died at birth. Leora lived her entire life in the Elk Creek area. She enjoyed her church and was proud to be a charter member of Dorcas. She worked her entire life caring for her family, children, and grandchildren. Leora will always be known for her good cooking and hard work ethic which she passed on to her family. At the age of 89, Leora suffered a stroke and moved to Maple Grove until its subsequent closure. After it closed, she moved to Pawnee Manor and resided ther until her death. She will always be loved, remembered and missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Erhardt; infant son; her parents; brothers: William J. Geweke and Louis H. Geweke; sisters: Ida (Mrs. Art Buethe), Louise (Mrs. Paul Buethe) and infant sister, Adella Geweke. Leora is survived by her sons Ronald and wife Linda of Tecumseh, Nebraska; Willis and wife Joyce of Elk Creek, Nebraska; five grandchildren; brother-in-law Reuben Buethe of Lincoln, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Rose Mary Geweke of Pawnee City, Nebraska and Marie Buethe of Lincoln, Nebraska and her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Elk Creek, Nebraska with Rev. Robert Schermbeck officiating. With interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Elk Creek, Nebraska.
