Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Richard Willard (1947-2020) and Darlene McGhee Byers of Union City, Ohio; daughter, Mary Elaine Byers Rush of Bellview, Nebraska; grandchildren, Yvonne Rush of Nebraska, Brian Byers of Spanaway, Washington, Timothy Byers of Shelbyville, Indiana, Rob Byers of Union City, Ohio, and Misty Byers Perdue of Graham, Washington; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Gunckel Baumgardner Barga (1909-2007) of Greenville and Georgina Gunckel McMahon (1914-2008) of Yermo, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday at Abbottsville Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio, with Reverend Jim Bradshaw officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are by Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Darke County Cancer Association.
