| Description | : | Mr. Gingles was born February 5, 1925, at rural Clifton, Kansas, the son of Ralph Wright Gingles and Mary Blanche Gingles. LeRoy enlisted in the Navy on his 17th birthday in 1942, serving on the Hospital Ship U.S.S. Relief World War II and was honorably discharged December 25, 1945. He has been a member of the American Legion for 64 years. He worked for over 25 years for the Clay Center Farmers Union Co-op retiring in 1987.
