Roy Clifford Fisher was born on Tuesday, March 30, 1909 at Stanhope. He was the son of Jesse and Mabel (Bergman) Fisher. Roy attended Stratford schools. On Saturday, Aug. 31, 1929 Roy was united in marriage to Thelma Harlow at the Methodist Parsonage in Boone. Roy operated Fisher Pontiac, Inc., Stratford, for 50 years before retiring in 1987. Roy was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stratford Chamber of Commerce, several automobile organizations, was a ham radio operator and enjoyed flying radio-controlled model airplanes. Survivors include his wife, Thelma; son, Dalton and Kristine Fisher, Boone; sister, Roberta and Halsey Vegors, Ames; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
