He was born on February 20, 1926 in Crete, Nebraska to Louis and Minnie (Sieck) Hodtwalker. He grew up on a farm near Malcolm, Nebraska. He graduated from Malcolm High School in 1944. He worked as a brick layer first in Lincoln, Nebraska, then in Seattle, Washington from 1947-1950's. He then moved back to Nebraska in early 1950's and worked as a bricklayer. He was born on February 20, 1926 in Crete, Nebraska to Louis and Minnie (Sieck) Hodtwalker. He grew up on a farm near Malcolm, Nebraska. He graduated from Malcolm High School in 1944. He worked as a brick layer first in Lincoln, Nebraska, then in Seattle, Washington from 1947-1950's. He then moved back to Nebraska in early 1950's and worked as a bricklayer. He became a Nebraska Highway Patrol Trooper in the mid 1950's, worked as a remodeling contractor from 1960-1976. He then farmed in DuBois, Nebraska until he retired. On October 25, 1975 he married Edna Koester at the Tedeemer Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a member of Masons and Shriner for 50 plus years, Scottish Rites Lodge in Lincoln, Nebraska, Sesostris Shrine Temple in Roca, Nebraska, Grand Lodge of Pawnee Lodge Branch 23 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Minnie Hodtwalker. He is survived by his wife Edna of DuBois; son David Hodtwalker and wife Annette of Hayward, Calif.; daughter Janice Rank and husband Gilbert of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pastor Ken Tubbesing officiated at graveside services. Inurnment was at Friedens U.C.C. Cemetery, Bern, Kansas. (Pawnee Republican, Oct. 28, 2010-pg.5)
