Tank Oct. 17, 1907 Oct. 30, 1931 Lead Daily Call newspaper, October 31, 1931 - "Lester Harold Tank, 23, an employee of the Homestake Mining company here, died yesterday afternoon at the company hospital after an illness of about two weeks. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Ada Mae Casey, of Lead, his mother and father of Fremont, Neb., a sister, Mrs. Florence Emmons, of Fremont; and two brothers, Albert of Fremont and Lawrence, of Lead. His mother was at his side when the end came and his father will be here for the funeral services which are to be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Rounsevell Funeral home on Mill street. Because of the contagious nature of the malady with which Mr. Tank was stricken, meningitis, the board of health has ordered that the services be strictly private. The Rev. F.W. Viken, pastor of the Methodist church, will have charge of the services and pall bearers will be selected from among Mr. Tank's fellow workmen in the paint department of the Homestake company. Mr. Tank was born September 17, 1908 in Salt Lake City. He had been a resident of Lead for several years. Interment is to be made in the Municipal cemetery in South Lead." Rounsevell Mortuary records of Lead state that Lester Harold Tank was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on "September" 17, 1908; died in the Homestake Hospital in Lead; age 23 years 1 month 13 days; occupation - painter; Methodist; father - Wm.
