He was born Sept. 23, 1910 in Omaha, Neb. son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vinson. On Jan. 12, 1937 he married Martha Quast at Gaylord, Minn. where they made their home until 1949 when they moved to Stratford. He was a well-driller and pump repair man for 30 years. He was born Sept. 23, 1910 in Omaha, Neb. son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vinson. On Jan. 12, 1937 he married Martha Quast at Gaylord, Minn. where they made their home until 1949 when they moved to Stratford. He was a well-driller and pump repair man for 30 years. He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Martha; a daughter, Mrs. Trevor (Susanne) Carlson of Stratford; two sons, Stephen of Granger and Joseph, of Marshalltown; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Wilking of Nicollet, Minn.; five brothers, Clifford of Independence, Mo., Marvin of Fort Dodge, Roy of Janesville, Minn., Art of Jewell, Curtis of Venata, Ore. and nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wed. Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Church with Rev. Calvin Rossman officiating. Burial in the South Marion Cemetery. The Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Dayton Review November 7, 1979 Lester Vinson, 69 Funeral services for Lester Vinson, 69, of Stratford were held Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the Stratford Lutheran Church. Rev. Calvin Rossman conducted the 1:30 p.m. service. Interment was held in the South Marion Cemetery at Stratford. Arrangements were completed by the Hanson, Stark, Welin Funeral Home at Stratford. Mr. Vinson passed away Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City. During the service vocal selections were presented by Darrell Young accompanied by Mrs. Ardelle Phipps. Bearers were Woodrow Nutt, Dale Kane, Reuben Naslund, Dick Gabrielson, Walter Zachow, Myron Kent, Harold Rasmussen and Wilhelm Carlson. Lester Vinson was born on September 23, 1901 in Omaha, Neb. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vinson. He married Martha Quast on January 12, 1937 in Gaylord, Minn. The couple made their home in Gaylord, Minn. until 1949 when the family moved to Stratford. Mr. Vinson was a well driller and a pump repairman for 30 years. He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Martha of Stratford; two sons, Stephen of Granger and Joseph of Marshalltown, daughter, Mrs. Trevor (Susanne) Carlson of Stratford; sister, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Wilking of Nicolett, Minn.; five brothers, Clifford of Independence, Mo.; Marvin of Fort Dodge, Roy of Jamesville, Minn.; Art of Jewell and Curtis of Venetta, Ore.; five grand children and several nieces and nephews.
