Hoy was born at Fullerton, Nebraska, November 13, 1893, and passed away September 26, 1934, aged 40 years, 10 months and 18 days. On September 14th, he was seriously injured by a run-away team. After two weeks of suffering he succumbed to his injuries. He was united in marriage to Clara Ellis at St. Edwards, Nebraska, September 2, 1916. Two children were born to this union, Fern and Mary Lee. The deceased is survived by his widow and two daughters, also his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Hoy of Fullerton, three brothers, Frank D., of Graceton, Minnesota, and Clarence W., and Dexter J., of Fullerton, and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Luella) Barber of Fullerton. His mother, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Rev. Pattison said of him: "Lester was a resident of this community all his life. He was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a faithful husband, a loving father and a good neighbor. His untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire county-side.
