Lester was born December 17, 1923, to the late Lloyd and Molly Seaborne Burress in Taylor County, Kentucky. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Roger Burress and Steve Burress; brothers, Harold Burress and Tommy Burress and a sister, Lillie Pointer. L.W., as he was known to many, was a retired farmer and loved to coon hunt. He was U.S. Army veteran and a member of Feathersburg First Church of God. Lester is survived by his wife, Burdis McDonald Burress as well as his children, Jerry Burress and his wife, Edith, Freddy Burress and his wife, Patty, Henry Burress and Inetta Childress and her husband, Larry, all of Elk Horn, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Bobby Lee Burress and his wife, Dorothy, and his sisters Christine Wise, Shirley Chelf and her husband, Richard and Loretta Gaddis, all of Elk Horn. The funeral service for Mr. Burress will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Atwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Callahan Cemetery. The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
