She was born July 23, 1920 in Marysville, IA to Hugh and Minnie Barnhill Johnston. She married Clifford L. Beaver on December 20, 1941 in Unionville, MO. They have been together for 70 years. A 1938 graduate of Attica High School, she had lived in Pershing, IA before moving to Ottumwa. She was a member of First Pentecostal Assembly of God and loved the Lord. She taught Sunday school for over 60 years and had been the church treasurer. Leta enjoyed missionary work. She was a member of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., Paralyzed Veterans of America Auxiliary. She loved her family and life, she never complained and would help anyone in need. Surviving is her husband, Clifford; a son, Clifford LeRoy Beaver(Pamela Sanderson)of Davenport; a daughter, Charlene(Don)Songer of Bull Head City, AZ; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; Three step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; ten step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Violet Williams of Knoxville and Eva Taylor of Dallas Center; and a brother, Roy Johnston of Albia. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Hugh Beaver; five sisters, Alice Kridlebaugh, Jenny Provenzanio, Betty Six, and infants Eugenia and Bernice; and a brother, Everett Johnston. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Rev. Richard Schlotter officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 am Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present fromn 5-7 pm Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Assembly of God.
