Description	:	Levozier with his wife, Jane (Cook) Moore, came to Missouri from Ohio approx. 1870 or 1872 where the family lived in a log cabin on a farm north of Savannah. Levozier and Jane were the parents of four sons and a daughter, Ruth. The oldest son, David Carmi, was born in Ohio, January 12, 1861 and was very young when the family came to Missouri. Levozier and Jane were the parents of four sons and a daughter, Ruth. The oldest son, David Carmi, was born in Ohio, January 12, 1861 and was very young when the family came to Missouri. The other sons were George Johnson, Eli Vincent and John Levozier. George became a school teacher; David owned a well-drinking rig and later attended business school; he and Eli later became salesmen. John was a farmer, Ruth married George Cryder and they remained on the Moore farm, caring for her mother. The Moore's all married and established homes near Graham. At one time all four brothers lived in the town and were active members in the church and community life. David, George and John are among the charter members of the Masonic Lodge. David and George established the Lightning Rod business early in the 1900's in Graham, where George operated a blacksmith shop. They decided to make it a firm with the four brothers and it became known as the Moore Brothers Lightning Rod Company. They had early patents on several inventions and machines used in their business for making the copper cable, tops, stands, and other parts. These patents were all under the Moore name. The Moore Brothers decided to move their business to Maryville in 1908. They erected a three story brick building on the corner of second and Market Streets. The business grew and prospered, at one time forty salesmen were employed, lightning rods were sold in nearly all the mid-state. A branch office was opened in Peoria, Illinois and Eli Moore was the manager. After World War I and the great depression of that era, the lightning rod business declined. However, the business continued to operate but the brothers began a new line by manufacturing "The Victor" acetylene light plant. This was a large cylinder type plant made in two sections in the interior and the whole mounted on a large square platform which generated acetylene lights for homes, schools, churches, or business firms. It was used for cooking much as gas is used today; with a very hot flame and a great improvement over kerosene. This business grew and was much in demand in rural homes. Several years later the REA was organized and became established so the Victor plant was used by few people.
