He was one of four children in the family. Lewis received his education at School District 35 from 1924 to 1933 at Geneva. He joined the United States Army in July 1944 and served until December 1945. He retired from the State of Nebraska Department of Roads after a 26-year career. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Barbara Klemm of Exeter on January 12, 1938. To this union were born four children, Doris, Wayne, Carolyn and William. Dorothy passed away on September 16, 1986. Lewis was married to Vivian M. Stoldorf of Geneva on March 17, 1988. Lewis was a life member of the VFW, Samuel J. Marsh Post 7102 of Geneva and also a member of Ohiowa American Legion Post 193. Lewis had a great sense of humor and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Michael John and Orpha Warner Kelch; wife, Dorothy, an infant brother, Francis, and brother, Wilbur. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; two sons, Wayne E. Kelch and wife, Denise, William Kelch and wife Deborah; two daughters, Doris Stanley, Carolyn and husband, Ron Lang; step-son, Robert Stoldorf and wife, Betty; two step-daughters, Virginia and husband, Floyd Richardson, Julie Stoldorf; brother, Clarence Kelch and wife Edith; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home, Geneva, on Monday, March 16, with Rev. Stanley Rider officiating. Organ solo, “Amazing Grace,” was played by organist, Mrs. Norval Lomax. Pallbearers were Dick Trapp, Edward Sieckmann, Francis Walker, Randy Freeman, Kenneth Hofferber, and Boyd Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Holroyd, Frank Otte, Joe Schelbitzki and Loren Bandemer. Military graveside services were conducted by the Geneva VFW, Samuel J.
