He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in DeLeon, TX, the son of Joseph and Leller (Lewis) Wisdom. He moved with his family to Oroville in 1939. He graduated from Oroville High School in 1942. Read More	Lewis J. Wisdom - Sep. 8, 2002 Spokane Lewis J. Wisdom, 77, of Spokane and formerly of Bridgeport and Chelan, died Thursday morning, Sept. 5, 2002, in Spokane. He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in DeLeon, TX, the son of Joseph and Leller (Lewis) Wisdom. He moved with his family to Oroville in 1939. He graduated from Oroville High School in 1942. Mr. Wisdom was a Veteran of W.W. II, serving in the Army in the South Pacific until 1945. He was discharged in June 1947. He then attended and graduated from Kinman Business University in Spokane. Following his graduation, he was employed with the Okanogan Creamery and Morrison Knudson Construction Co. He began employment with Douglas Co. PUD in March, 1952. For many years, he served as an auditor until his retirement in January 1987. On Nov. 23, 1956, he was married to Sarah Lou Murphy at Chelan. They moved to Chelan in 1994, and to Spokane in October of 2000. Mr. Wisdom was a member of the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce, where he served as Vice-President and President; he was a charter member of the Bridgeport Golf Course, and was active in the planning and construction of the course; he was an avid golfer, and was also a member of Bridgeport American Legion Post 218. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lou, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Arita and Rey Amundson, of Spokane; two sons, Jay Wisdom of Spokane, Dan Wisdom and his fiancée, Bev Klotz, of Spokane; two brothers, Joseph and his wife, Kaye, of Rocky Mount, VA, J.C. and his wife, Florence, of Spokane; a sister Leller Ferguson, of Milton; and a grandson, Michael Wisdom, of Spokane. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, 11 a.m. at Precht Rose Chapel, with Joe Lewis and Don Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Spokane Hospice. Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
