Description	:	Lewis Marcelles Thayer, 1876-1924 KICK OF HORSE PROVES FATAL – Louis M. Thayer living one-half mile north of Brayton received a fatal injury last Saturday evening when he was kicked in the abdomen by a horse just as he was entering the stall with the bridle. He was taken to Grand Island to the hospital Sunday morning and died Sunday afternoon. The body was brought back to Brayton on the passenger Monday evening. He was taken to Grand Island to the hospital Sunday morning and died Sunday afternoon. The body was brought back to Brayton on the passenger Monday evening. A large number of members of the Masonic order of Wolbach went up to Brayton at the same time to lend their assistance to the bereaved family. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev. Moore who is spending the week at the Epworth institute at Camp Sheldon at Columbus, returned to officiate at the funeral services. Mr. Thayer was a Mason with membership in the Scotia lodge. The Masonic Lodge of Wolbach had charge of the services at the cemetery. Obituary – Lewis Marcelles Thayer was born September 17, 1876 at O'Connor, Greeley county, Nebr. and died July 13, 1924, at the age of 47 years, 7 months and 26 days. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and six children, Alma, Asahel, Henry, Cecil, Helen and Theresa; one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Frank Gadway of Miller, Nebr., Mr. E. H. Thayer of Wolbach, Mr. Henry Ford and Ruffus Ford of Ogden, Utah. Lewis Marcelles Thayer was married to Frieda Anderson, on March 20, 1901, at Greeley.
