CLARK BURIED TUESDAY A HOST OF RELATIVES AND LIFE-LONG FRIENDS MOURN THE DEPARTURE OF AN UNSELFISH LIFE Lewis William Clark, the oldest son of William and Wilhelmina Clark, was born November 20, 1863, on the farm near Ladora on which he grew to manhood. On November 29, 1888, he was untied in marriage to Imogen Lillian Manatt, who survives him. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Slaymaker. The end of his usefull life came peacefully about 2:30 Sunday morning, Feburary 27, at his home in Carnforth. His last days were marked by patient endurance of intense suffering. Several weeks before his death Mr. Clark, putting into effect a desire which had been in his heart for many years, was baptized into the Christian faith and received into membership in the Carnforth Congregational church. The remaining weeks of his life were given to sincere and devoted service for his God, service that will leave an influence for good in the community during many years. Mr. Clark's entire life was marked by a singular unselfishness, and by a thoughtfulness for others that will make his memory precious in the hearts of all who ever came intimately to know him. Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves to mourn his death his twin sister, Mrs. Ingraham of Oklahoma, his brother Fred Clark of Victor, his granddaughter, Mildred Slaymaker, and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was held from the Congregational church at Carnforth Tuesday morning, February 29, at eleven o'clock, and was attended by a large number of friends of the deceased. The casket was covered by a mass of beautiful flowers.
