Watchorn. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Turner and was born in the Township of Ramsay. About 30 years ago she married Mr Watchorn and the couple removed to Almonte where they have resided ever since. In addition to her husband, left to mourn are one daughter, Mrs George Gomme (Rose Edith), and one grandson Billie, of Almonte; two sisters, Mrs Mary Miller, Almonte; Mrs Wm McEwen of Ramsay; Three brothers Morris and James Turner, Ramsay, and John Turner of Carleton Place. The funeral, which was one of the most largely attended ever held in Almonte, took place on Wednesday afternoon from the home of her son-in-law, Mr George Gomme, Elgin Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. A service was conducted at the house by Rev J.C. Anderson, rector of St Paul's Anglican Church and at the graveside by Rev W.J. Scott, pastor of Bethany United Church. The pallbearers were John Millar of Almonte and Kenneth McLellan of Fitzroy, two nephews; Mr Geo H. Doucett, M.L.A. of Carleton Place and Messrs R.A. Jamieson, Harry Houston and Joseph Brunette. Among the many floral tributes which testified to the high esteem in which deceased was held were pieces from Members of Almonte Council, Almonte Ladies' Curling Club; L.O.L. No 378, Mississippi Lodge No 147 A.F. & A.M., Young People's Society of Almonte Baptist Church; Staff of the Dominion Stores Ltd., Almonte Hotel, Employees of Code Felt & Knitting Co. Perth. Among those who attended in the funeral from out-oftown were friends from Renfrew, Sudbury, Arnprior, Kinburn, Pakenham, Carleton Place, Perth and Trenton. The death of Mrs Watchorn will be widely mourned by a large circle of friends in Almonte and the surrounding district. She was a woman of a quiet, kindly disposition whom it was a pleasure to know.
