Description	:	Lila Marie Chell Moen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana. She was born June 25, 1921, to Alfred and Carrie Chell in One Road Township near Sisseton, South Dakota. She graduated from Sisseton High School and Norther State College in Aberdeen. She began her career as a teacher on one-room school houses of Roberts County and taught in Roslyn, Summit, and Peever as well as Albany, Oregon, over the years. Read More	Lila Marie Chell Moen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana. She was born June 25, 1921, to Alfred and Carrie Chell in One Road Township near Sisseton, South Dakota. She graduated from Sisseton High School and Norther State College in Aberdeen. She began her career as a teacher on one-room school houses of Roberts County and taught in Roslyn, Summit, and Peever as well as Albany, Oregon, over the years. She married Melvin Moen on June 24, 1945. They farmed in Grant County, until their retirement. They spent 18 winters as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona, but loved returning to the farm in the spring. After being widowed, Lila lived at Heritage Village in Webster then spent the past two years at Highgate Senior Living in Billings in order to be near her daughter, Linda. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, and her son, Ron, her parents, and her siblings, Ernest and Esther Chell. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Hanson of Billings; their children Karl (Elizabeth) of Bearcreek, MT, and Jenna (Chris Pfaff) of Menlo Park, CA; grandson Eric Moen of summit, and granddaughter Kristen Moen, a student at Augustana College; as well as many nieces and nephews who were dear to her and Melvin. In addition to family, her former students and many friends were the light of her life. Lila was a talented musician, a dedicated educator and careful keeper of family genealogical records. "My family and home have been my happiness. My church and music have enriched my life and made it all I could ask it to be. Children and grandchildren are the ultimate.
