Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at Killbuck United Methodist Church with pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating. Lilian Duncan, 98, Killbuck In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Killbuck United Methodist Church, 180 Mark Ave., Killbuck, Ohio 44637. Lilian was born June 30, 1918 in Killbuck and was the daughter of Fred and Anna (Middaugh) Duncan. She was a 1936 graduate of Killbuck High School and a 1940 graduate of Muskingum College in New Concord. She was a high school teacher in Louisville, Sullivan and at West Holmes until her retirement in 1983. Lilian was a member of Killbuck United Methodist Church and also a member of the DAR, the Holmes County Historical Society, and the Holmes County Retired Teachers Association. She was a former trustee of Wolf Creek Cemetery. Lilian was a volunteer of the Pomerene Hospital Auxiliary and also volunteered at the Killbuck Library and Killbuck Museum. She is survived by a nephew, Jimmy (Shea) Lowery; and two great-nieces, Sarah Jane Lowery of New Orleans and Annie (AJ) Taylor of New York City, New York; and two great-nephews, Jonathon (Jess) Lowery of Rochester, New York and Kevin Lowery of Jackson, Mississippi. Lilian was the last Duncan from the William C. Duncan line. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Leona (Robert) Lowery. The family would like to express a heartfelf Thank You to all the loyal friends through the years, all the caregivers during her illness and to the wonderful staff at Majora Lane for the love, care and support that was given to Lilian.
