She passed away at the family home on Lancaster Street at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Sargent has been sick about a year but had been able to be about and very much enjoyed the Sargent camp at Webster Lake through the summer months of July, August and September of this year. The community was shocked Saturday to learn of the death of Mrs. Lillian B. Sargent, wife of Dr. Maurice E. Sargent. She passed away at the family home on Lancaster Street at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Sargent has been sick about a year but had been able to be about and very much enjoyed the Sargent camp at Webster Lake through the summer months of July, August and September of this year. Last week she was able to motor to the lake. Last spring she was in the Deaconess Hospital in Boston for treatment. She became much worse Thursday and failed rapidly. Mrs. Sargent was born in Ashland, the daughter of Burdette H. and Annie R. Brown of this town. She attended schools and taught in the schools of Ashland. She was a fine musician and for several years played the organ in the Baptist Church. She was married to Dr. Sargent a well known Franklin dentist, in Ashland September 25, 1901, the wedding taking place at the Baptist Church with Rev. J. Franklyn Babb. Mrs. Sargent was a member of the Baptist Church in Franklin and of Colfax Rebekah Lodge. She belonged to the Beulah Class of the Baptist Church and at the time of her death was the president of the class. She was a member of the Franklin Woman's Club and had served as secretary. For several years she had presided at the organ in the M.E. Congregational and Christian Churches in this city. She had given several recitals and prepared Cantatas for Christmas and Easter festivals. She had clerked in several Franklin stores, more especially W.S. Stewart's. She was well liked by the patrons and was fond of the store work. Mrs. Sargent was of a social and lively and lovable disposition and will be much missed by a large circle of friends. She was always willing to take an active part in the various church and social activities in which she was interested. Her father and mother are both dead. She is survived by her husband and two children, Robert E. Sargent a student at Franklin High School and Dorothy S. Sargent who graduated from Franklin High School with the Class of 1923. A sister, Miss Grace Brown, a teacher in the Franklin schools She was always a willing to take an active part Franklin schools and one uncle Ora A. Brown, prominent Ashland businessman, also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Baptist Church, Rev. C.B. Hansen, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church officiating clergyman. Members of the Colfax Rebekah Lodge, the Beulah Class and high school students attended in a body. Interment took place in the family lot in Ashland. Undertaker Henry L.
