Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm Friday, Feb. 10 at Tennant Funeral Home. Vigil and Rosary service will be at 7:00 pm Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Lillian was born on December 29, 1918 in Platte Center, Nebraska to Adolph and Mary (Schumacher) Liebig and was the last living sibling among her 9 other brothers and sisters. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Platte Center. Lillian was a lifelong Sterling area resident. In addition to being a wonderful mother, great cook, and homemaker on the family farm; she also enjoyed employment for several years at Watkins and Marion’s Fashions in the mid 1980’s. She was also a teacher in her younger years. She married Joe F. Cucarola in Sterling on November 21, 1953. She was a lifelong active parishioner of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She loved her family, and enjoyed Catholic study and church doctrine. She was a great supporter of Ex-POW and VA organizations with her husband Joe. Lillian is survived by her sons and their families, granddaughter and grandsons. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 60 years, Joe Cucarola; parents Adolph and Mary Liebig; brothers Adolph Jr. "Oscar", Sylvestor, Fr. Carol, Ferd, Marcel "Sport", and Dan Liebig; sisters Margie Liebig, Evelyn Dollerschell, Valenda Ebner, and Elizabeth Egger. Memorials may be made to the Lillian Cucarola Memorial Fund in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
