Lillian graduated from Tama High School in 1931 and attended Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. On December 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to John Harland Collinson in Tama. Lillian taught school in Mt. Auburn, Vining, Clutier, and Atlantic. She retired from teaching in 1970 and they moved to Webster City where they resided until John's death on June 7, 1985. On December 30, 1944, she was united in marriage to John Harland Collinson in Tama. Lillian taught school in Mt. Auburn, Vining, Clutier, and Atlantic. She retired from teaching in 1970 and they moved to Webster City where they resided until John's death on June 7, 1985. In 1993, Lillian returned to reside in Tama where she eventually became a resident at Sunny Hill Care Center. Lillian enjoyed children, especially her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lillian Mary (Chalupsky) Collinson, age: 96, passed away on Sunday; June 10, 2012 at the Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her children: John (Lynn) Collinson Jr. of Tama, Iowa, Joan Campbell of Toledo; Tama County, Iowa, Jane (Matthew) McNeely of Boston; Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Jean (Larry) Jesse of Ames; Story County, Iowa, James (Sheryl) Collinson of Toledo, Iowa, Janet (Richard Carroll) Collinson of Muscatine; Muscatine County, Iowa and Joel (Patsy) Collinson of Dallas Center; Dallas County, Iowa. Her eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also her many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: John and her sister in infancy. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m on Wednesday; June 13, 2012 at the Kruse~Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday; June 13, 2012 also at the Kruse~Phillips Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City; Hamilton County, Iowa. A memorial fund in Lillian's honor has been established.
