She married Earl Oren Bauer of Alliance on Feb. 14, 1938, and they lived near Antioch. She is survived by three children, Betty and Theo Bedient of Hemingford, Neb., Marvin and Shara Bauer of 320 N. Harrington, Ainsworth, NE 69210, and Kathy and Phil Ward of 3600 NW 126th St., Lincoln, NE 68524. She was an avid reader and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to seven grandchildren, Kimberly Kay and Clifford R. Payne, Brenda and Jerry Nunes, Roger and Suzanne Bedient, Matt and Denise Bauer of Alliance, Rodney and Heather Bauer of Lincoln, Neb., Kenneth and Jennifer Ward of Pearland, Texas, 13 great-grandchildren, Erica Lynn Payne, Zachary Randall Payne, Melissa Kay Nunes, Jayme Rae Nunes, Katelyn Rose Nunes, A.J. Bedient, Kaycee Bedient and Cherity Bedient of Alliance, Nathan Kevin Bauer of Ainsworth, Whisper and Cole Connor of Alliance and Michaela Bauer of Lincoln. She also is survived by her sister, Norma Prall of Alliance, sisters-in-law, Eileen Bauer and Emily Messersmith and husband Bob of Alliance, nephews, Charles and Vicky Henderson of Tracy, CA, Don and Carolyn Henderson, Bob and Darla Henderson, Steve and Lynn Messersmith, Larry and Deb Bauer of Alliance, nieces, Carol Wilson of Livermore, Calif., Lois and Don Porter of Colorado, Linda and Dewayne Schick of Grand Island, NE, Carol and Bob Eilts of Lincoln, and Evelyn Jade Phillips of Beaver City, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, brothers, Herb, Howard, Gerald, Johnny and Norman, sister Thelma, brother-in-law, Wilber (Bill) Prall, grandson, James Bedient, granddaughter Mary-Lynn Bauer, granddaughter-in-heart, Cheralee Hickman. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary, Country Music Association. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
