Description	:	Sioux Falls- Lillian Nora Rude Hanson, 91, a cancer survivor, died on Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center. Lillian Nora Rude, the daughter of Andrew and Nina (Olson) Rude, was born in Canton, SD, on April 4, 1915. Lillian grew up and received her education in Canton graduating from Canton High School. She took first place. She was... Read More	Sioux Falls- Lillian Nora Rude Hanson, 91, a cancer survivor, died on Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center. Lillian Nora Rude, the daughter of Andrew and Nina (Olson) Rude, was born in Canton, SD, on April 4, 1915. Lillian grew up and received her education in Canton graduating from Canton High School. She was a member of the Congregational Church. Lillian loved to dance and following her graduation she made a trip to Deadwood to dance in a marathon dance that lasted 40 days and 40 nights. She took first place. She was also a singer with the Lawrence Welk Band. In 1937, she moved to Sioux Falls and worked at the Corner Café. While attending a dance in Schindler, SD Lillian met Orville "Red" Hanson. They were united in marriage on June 11, 1937 in Sioux Falls. Lillian continued to work at the café until they started their family. Lillian was a wonderful and loving mother; she had a great sense of humor and was always joking. She enjoyed bingo, going to Flandreau, shopping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lillian will be greatly missed by her family. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Larry (Sandi) Hanson, Rapid City, SD; daughters, Donna (Ron) Garber, and Bonnie (David) Dietrich, all of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, her parents, three sisters, Myrtle Hoff, Genieve Skain, Alma Ruhmohr and one brother, Oscar Tweet, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Miller Funeral Home 13th & Main. Interment will be at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
