Description	:	Lilly M. Bixler, daughter of Charles and Mary Ann Bixler, was born in a log home in Douglas Township, Adams County, Iowa, February 9, 1862 and passed away at her home in Nodaway, August 22, 1936, at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 13, days. She was the youngest of a family of five children and grew to womanhood at the farm home of her parents with whom she resided until May 1, 1906 when she was united in marriage to James W. Kirk of Nodaway and moved to this place which has been her home for the past forty-one... Read More	Lilly M. Bixler, daughter of Charles and Mary Ann Bixler, was born in a log home in Douglas Township, Adams County, Iowa, February 9, 1862 and passed away at her home in Nodaway, August 22, 1936, at the age of 74 years, 6 months, 13, days. She was the youngest of a family of five children and grew to womanhood at the farm home of her parents with whom she resided until May 1, 1906 when she was united in marriage to James W. Kirk of Nodaway and moved to this place which has been her home for the past forty-one years. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. She being the last of her immediate family, also by her husband on February 10, 1926. She is survived by her son, Manley Bixler, with whom she has always resided, and also by six nephews and four nieces, and by the daughters of her late husband, Lulu Brownlee and Dessie Dyaurt of Savannah, Missouri and Grace Kennedy and Hazel Hyde of this vicinity and by many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Kirk united with the Women's Relief Corps at Nodaway in 1897 and with the local M.E. Church about 1901 and has continuously been a member of these operations and although ill health during the past few years has prevented regular attendance in the church and the corps. she was a faithful mother and her chief interest was in her home and her work. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Nodaway conducted by Rev. D. A. Zook, pastor of the M.E. Church. Burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
