Description	:	Lina Martina Mortensen, one of 17 children born to Jens Christian Fredericksen (sic) and Marie Olsen Fredericksen (sic), was born near Ruskin, Nebraska, on September 29, 1895. Lina attended school at the Riber Schol near Ruskin. She was baptised and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin. On June 26, 1920, Lina was married to Chris Mortensen at Fairbury, Nebraska. To this union four children were born. Lina attended school at the Riber Schol near Ruskin. She was baptised and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin. On June 26, 1920, Lina was married to Chris Mortensen at Fairbury, Nebraska. To this union four children were born. Most of Lina's life was spent in Nebraska, living in the Ruskin, Hardy and Superior communities and a few years in Loveland, Colorado. Lina and Chris have made their home at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior for the past few years. She was a member of the Nuckolls County 2275 Barracks Auxiliary and a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Superior. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, eight sisters and 3 children in infancy. Survivors include her husband, Chris, of the Good Samaritan Center, Superior; two daughters, Delores Aitchison and her husband Douglas of Sidney, Nebraska, Margaret Simonsen and her husband, Clarence, of Superior; two sons, Eldon Mortensen and wife, Setsuko, of Riverton, Wyoming, and Clayton Mortensen and wife, Cathy, of Rogers, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Lina passed away October 12, 1984, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years, and 13 days. Funeral services were held Monday, October 15, 1984, at 2:00 p.m. fom the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted McIntyre officiating. "Come You Faithful, Raise the Strain" and "Jesus Lives! The Victory's Won" were sung by Mark Butler with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were: Leslie Jensen, Wylie Jensen, Roger Nelson, Don Johansen, Harold Carpenter, Eldrick Grummert. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.
