She was surrounded by her family and friends. A lifelong resident of Clinton, she was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church, and she loved to share her faith in God with others. She was surrounded by her family and friends. A lifelong resident of Clinton, she was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church, and she loved to share her faith in God with others. Mrs. Stooksbury loved to sew and enjoyed making clothes for her granddaughters. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend, and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Stooksbury was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Stooksbury; and her father, Danty Thurman Cook. She is survived by her son, Brian Stooksbury, and her daughter, Vonda Holder and husband, Steve, all of Clinton; her granddaughters, Brianna and Maggie Holder, also of Clinton; her brothers, Larry Cook and wife, Katie, of Dandridge, David Cook and wife, Elizabeth, of Clinton, Dana Cook and wife, Carol, of Powell, Kenny Cook and wife, Gail, and Dwayne Cook and wife, Donna, all of Clinton; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great -nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Methodist Medical Center for their wonderful care during Mrs. Stooksbury's last week of life. A funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, in the chapel at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woodhaven Memorial Garden in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
