Read More	Pioneer Citizen Dies. Seated at the entrance to the House of the Lord, and just after giving in a strong and earnest testimonial of his faith, death came suddenly to Capt. Littleton T. Justice, an old and highly respected citizen of this city, about 9 o'clock last Saturday night. The sad intelligence of his departure from this life, was a shock to the people of Crisfield and surroundings. "Capt. Lit" as he was familiarly known to a large circle of friends and acquaintances, had enjoyed exceedingly good health for several months past, and his healthy appearance had been the subject of many comments recently. After eating a hearty meal Saturday evening, at the home of his son, Sidney J. Justice, where he made his home, he attended the Class meeting at Immanuel M. E. Church, as was his custom. During the meeting Mr. Justice gave a warm manifestation of his faith, after which he walked out of the building a few minutes before the meeting closed. A short while later when the others in attendance at the meeting walked out of the church, they discovered his lifeless body, seated on the steps of the church. It is believed that acute indigestion was the cause of his death. Mr. Justice was nearing the 75th mile stone, and was a widower, his wife having preceded him to the grave a little more than a year ago. He was a native of Virginia, but came to Crisfield many years ago and was identified with the growth of the city until the day of his death. For many years he was engaged in bay trading, and later in the mercantile and sea food business in Crisfield. Mr. Justice was a devout member of Immanuel church, and had made a record in attendance for many years past. By young and old alike he was much beloved; an honest christian man, with a good word for the downhearted and assistance for the needy. A large number of friends and acquaintances gathered at Immanuel church Tuesday afternoon, to pay their last tribute of love and respect to the departed. Rev. C. A. Hill officiated at the service, and conducted a very impressive ceremony. The floral decorations were many, and bespoke the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Interment was made in the Crisfield cemetery. Mr. Justice is survived by the following children: Messrs. Sidney J. Justice, Edward Justice, W. B. Justice, Chas. T. Justice, Mrs. Edward Mason, Mrs. John Pruitt and Mrs. Sadie Payne. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the community. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Saturday, July 5, 1913, p. 4. Web.
